THE CHALLENGES

THE CHALLENGES

THE CHALLENGES

The project was delivered under the NSW Design and Building Practitioners Act (DBPA) regulated design regime, requiring a high standard of compliance, documentation clarity, and coordination across multiple disciplines.

As a Class 2 mixed-use and residential development, the project demanded careful integration of permanent structural systems with temporary works to manage excavation support, staged load transfer, and interfaces with architectural and building elements. The urban setting introduced additional coordination and sequencing considerations typical of Inner West developments.

OUR APPROACH

OUR APPROACH

OUR APPROACH

Metric Engineering provided coordinated structural design and engineered shoring solutions, addressing both permanent works and temporary support requirements from early excavation through to primary structural completion.
Design development focused on buildability and construction sequencing, ensuring that temporary works were directly aligned with permanent structural systems and reflected realistic construction stages.

All documentation was prepared with a strong emphasis on DBPA compliance, producing clear, defensible regulated designs suitable for declaration and efficient review by certifiers and approval authorities.

THE RESULTS

THE RESULTS

THE RESULTS

The project was supported by robust, well-documented regulated designs that reduced construction risk and improved clarity for site teams.
Metric Engineering’s integrated approach facilitated smoother approvals, supported efficient site execution, and ensured the development progressed in line with DBPA compliance requirements for Class 2 mixed-use residential projects.
