THE CHALLENGES

Works adjacent to an existing jet-fuel line at Sydney Airport required the live asset to be temporarily supported — infrastructure where any movement or overload would carry consequences far beyond program cost. The support scheme had to carry the exposed line safely while works proceeded around it, inside an operational airport environment with exacting engineering review requirements.

OUR APPROACH

Metric Engineering delivered the temporary works design for the fuel line support: a propping scheme modelled and documented in a full calculation package and engineering report, developed through structured client review cycles to a final issue in June 2026.

The design worked from the asset owner's civil and structural records, with support frames detailed for the line's geometry and loading and documentation prepared to the project's temporary-works procedures.

THE RESULTS

A rigorously reviewed temporary support design for critical live infrastructure — enabling the surrounding works to proceed with the fuel line carried safely throughout.
